Paul Hete has built an exceptional career spanning military service, public safety, and private security operations.

After graduating from Billings West High School in 1985, Paul enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, selecting the 0311 Infantry Military Occupational Specialty—often joking that “there’s no other reason to join the Corps.” He completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego and Infantry Training School at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon completion, he was assigned to 2nd Marine Division, 3rd Battalion, Kilo Company, 1st Platoon at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

During this assignment, Paul participated in extensive training deployments throughout Okinawa, Japan; South Korea; the Philippines; and multiple stateside training exercises on both U.S. coasts. In 1989, he reenlisted and was reassigned to 1st Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines (2/7), Golf Company, 1st Platoon at Camp Pendleton, California, later relocating with the unit to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), 29 Palms, California.

Following Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990, Paul deployed with 2/7 in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, deploying within one week of the invasion and remaining until the completion of combat operations. For his service, he earned multiple decorations, including the Combat Action Ribbon. Paul honorably concluded his Marine Corps service in 1993.

After leaving the military, Paul worked in his family’s roofing and construction business before transitioning into corrections. He served at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility in Billings, Montana, marking the beginning of a long career in corrections and private security across Montana and Arizona. Through years of employment with multiple security firms, Paul gained firsthand insight into industry practices—eventually recognizing opportunities to raise professional and ethical standards.

Paul pursued higher education, earning associate and bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice, along with a Diploma in Wildlife Conservation and Forestry from Penn Foster College. He further expanded his professional training through numerous Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) courses.

In 2004, Paul left the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) after three years of service to join Blackwater in Moyock, North Carolina. Following intensive training, he deployed to Iraq to conduct security operations. After returning in 2005, he again supported Blackwater operations during Hurricane Katrina, providing security services for FEMA personnel throughout the affected regions.

In 2018, Paul applied for and was granted an Arizona Private Security Guard Agency License through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to building and leading Templar Protective Services Corporation, applying decades of operational experience, leadership, and disciplined professionalism to deliver reliable, mission-focused security solutions.
